Launch Day in 3…2…1…

It’s true! No more delays!

Launch Day of The Beta is December 1!

Will we be launching the Beta without a bunch of the features, like being able to set your Profile Avatar as one of your saved characters? You betcha! But don’t worry, those features that you didn’t ask for and probably aren’t excited for are coming soon! Whoooo Hooo! *sigh*
Sorry, I’m a bit punchy this morning. Blame the lack of sleep xP

If you’re a Backer you Should (that’s the operative word) get an email on launch day to the address we have on file for you, inviting you to sign into the app. You Should (again, operative word), be able to see your subscription length. For many of you, you’ll notice it’s a LOT longer than you probably anticipated. That’s because your subscription length is based off our anticipated launch of the main feature you backed (character builder, scene builder, story animator) – AND the fact that our dev team made the subscription lengths divisible only by 365…. We didn’t want to ask them to correct that right now, because given everything else they’re doing, they just might crack. So… yeah. Our oops is your big win. 🙂

In all seriousness, let’s list the most important features of the builder that ARE going to be in the Beta:

  • Upgraded UI
  • More Customization
  • Coloring your character and assets
  • A few weapons and shields
  • Saving your character to your library
  • Creating a character bio
  • Customizing your personal profile

What ISN’T in there, but coming soon:

  • Helmets
  • Base layer (to make your character hairy, scaly or in body stocking)
  • Wings
  • Horns
  • Tails
  • Poses (this one is a big priority for us, we just ran into a big bug)
  • Tokens
  • Social sharing of your character, character bio, personal profile
  • More assets! (including add-ons)
  • NPC Generator

What about character sheets? 🙁

You might be notching what is NOT on the list is a character sheet option. We’re exploring the best way to handle this, given how many different systems there are. If we get enough users, we’ll approach D&D Beyond, Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, and World Anvil about allowing an easy import function, so you can just import your character image into whatever tool you’re using. In absence of that, we’re also exploring ways you might upload your character sheet and quickly/easily identify the editable fields. BUT we are Not there yet! So, patience, please.

Do You Wanna Build a Snow Ma… Erm… Better App?

Plus you get to tell us your opinion! Who doesn’t like telling people their opinions???

That’s all for now. Wish us luck for a good launch!
